Our Records Focus
Mississippi public-records law opens the door to certain booking material, but it won't tell you where the current record actually sits. So start with the map. The sheriff runs the local detention roster and the booking system behind it. State custody falls to a separate offender search run by the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Court records come later in the process, and that's where a case outcome appears. This service lays out each of those routes clearly, including written-request options for the times an online view falls short. Booking photographs are never copied or displayed here.
Information Available Here
The point of all this is simple. Verify the official source first. An old news story or a copied record can steer you wrong, so use these paths to reach the office that actually holds the file.
- The county booking and roster lookup, including the current-custody and recent-release paths.
- The Walthall route for booking sheets, photographs, and court follow-up after an arrest.
- The Wanted Fugitives page, which explains the official warrant-check fallback when no online wanted list is published.
- The difference between local detention records, MDOC custody records, and dated Arrest News reporting.
Limits of This Service
This service runs on its own. It has no ties to the Walthall County Sheriff's Office, the Tylertown Police Department, the Walthall County Detention Center, MDOC, or any court in the state. Nor is it a Mississippi government office. When you need an official record created or fixed, only the responsible public office can do that.
- We cannot confirm current custody, arrange a release, or transfer a person in custody.
- We cannot post bond, schedule a visit, or deliver funds for anyone.
- We do not offer legal advice or legal representation.
- We cannot promise that an outside office’s phone number, fee, or public record remains unchanged.
Need a current custody status, charge detail, release date, or certified record? Go straight to the source. Contact the sheriff, the court, MDOC, or whichever public office handled the matter.
Search Partner Disclosure
You'll run into search boxes on some pages, and outside companies operate them. Those providers set their own prices, their own terms, and their own results. If you pick a paid service through one of those tools, this site may earn a referral fee, which helps keep things running. What happens with a partner's pricing, data handling, or search outcome stays outside our control.
